Validation of Automated Mobility Assessment Using a Single 3D Sensor

چکیده
Reliable mobility assessment is essential to diagnose or optimize treatment in persons affected by mobility disorders, e.g., for musculoskeletal disorders. In this work, we present a system that is able to automatically assess mobility using a single 3D sensor. We validate the system ability to assess mobility and predict the medication state of Parkinson’s disease patients while using a relatively small number of motion tasks. One key component of our system is a graph-based feature extraction technique that can capture the dynamic coordination between parts of the body while providing results that are easier to interpret than those obtained with other data-driven approaches. We further discuss the system and the study design, highlighting aspects that provide insights for developing mobility assessment applications in other contexts.

3D Path Planning Algorithm for Mobile Anchor-Assisted Positioning in Wireless Sensor Networks
Positioning service is one of Wireless Sensor Networks’ (WSNs) fundamental services. The accurate position of the sensor nodes plays a vital role in many applications of WSNs. In this paper, a 3D positioning algorithm is being proposed, using mobile anchor node to assist sensor nodes in order to estimate their positions in a 3D geospatial environment. However, mobile anchor node’s 3D path optim...
متن کاملDesigning, validation, and reliability assessment of software to acquire kinematics parameters of motion by image processing
Motion analysis systems are useful and effective equipment in biomechanics research. Unfortunately these systems are available for few researchers because these are expensive equipment. The aim of this study was to design and validation of a practical and inexpensive software, to determine the exact markers position in space and compute the kinematic of movement. In designing the software, the ...
متن کاملValidation of Optimum ROI Size for 123I-FP-CIT SPECT Imaging Using a 3D Mathematical Cylinder Phantom
Objective(s): The partial volume effect (PVE) of single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) on corpus striatum imaging is caused by the underestimation of specific binding ratio (SBR). A large ROI (region of interest) set using the Southampton method is independent of PVE for SBR. The present study aimed to determine the optimal ROI size with contrast and SBR for striatum images and val...
متن کامل3D Reconstruction Applied to Virtual Heritage and Cultural Conservation
There is increasing interest in creating 3D photo-realistic computer models of monuments or heritage buildings, both indoors and outdoors. Our approach to 3D Reconstruction is to use automated distance measurements together with photographs. Two technologies are used: i) a combined laser digital camera sensor for data acquisition and ii) mobility for resolving spatial occlusions. After a few sc...
متن کاملValidation of Shell Theory for Modeling the Radial Breathing Mode of a Single-Walled Carbon Nanotube (RESEARCH NOTE)
In this paper, the radial breathing mode (RBM) frequency of single-walled carbon nanotube (SWCNT) is studied based on the thin shell theory. For this purpose, SWCNT is considered as an elastic thin cylindrical shell. The dynamic equation of RBM is derived using the Hamilton’s principle. An analytical solution of the RBM frequency of SWCNT is obtained. The advantage of this formulation is that i...
